Artist Statement
I create representational impressionistic paintings with acrylic, gouache, or oil paint on board or canvas. Representational means that the piece is recognizable as the subject matter I'm painting, but impressionistic in that if you get up close, you can see the brushwork. I layer my paint gradually, beginning with large brushes and expressive brushwork to create a framework, over which I get more detailed - especially in my focal area.
Edmonds Connection
I've been fortunate enough to be a gallery artist at Cole Gallery for many years, have been in the Edmonds Art Studio Tour since the early 2010s as well as a board member for many years, and am a current director of the Edmonds Arts Festival. Edmonds is such an artistic community and I'm proud to be a part of it!
